A 'smart' bespoke holiday destination

“Arcadia” is a vision of pastoralism, one in which we at complete harmony with nature. Often described as ‘un-attainable’, it charectorises a rift between the beauty of architectural invention and the restrictive nature of ‘sustainabile’ solutions. Arcadia captures the the poetics of the site, working with the environment to harness its potential. Whilst also providing a system which is integrated within the unique relationship of its clients. Even though they have differing interests, Arcadia celebrates the moments they interact, within their daily routines. The design turns the restrictive boundaries of the site and opens them up to create a flow that continues throughout the site. I wanted my design to express these multiple strands of influence, cohesively, within a piece of architecture that not only works to the clients configuration, but somewhere they may call home.

This project was also chosen as the clients winning scheme at the final presentation. I recieved a cheque for £1,000 from the client for being the outright winner.
